Madison Groups senior management team consists of trusted minds and expertise in the fields of financial management, real estate, media, accounting, commerce and development.

Historical Context:

Madison Pacific’s property at 1120 Mainland St. circa 1980. Today the building is home to over 40 tenants across office and retail space.

The Team

John DeLucchi

Prior to joining the Madison Group, John was a partner at PwC until March of 2020.

After serving as the BC Region Managing Partner John was elected to the board of PwC Canada and served as a director from 2018 to 2020 when he joined Madison.

John was the Managing Partner for PwC in the BC Region from 2009 to 2017. In addition to being Managing Partner, John previously held various leadership roles at PwC including National Consumer and Industrial Products Leader (responsible for industries including: Mining, Forestry, Retail, Real Estate, Pharma and Life Sciences and other Industrial products industries), National Technology Leader and National Life Sciences Leader.

During his career at PwC John primarily worked with public companies listed in Canada and the US as well as selected large, professionally run private companies. Most of the companies John worked with have international operations in several countries.

John is a FCPA currently serves as a director on the board of Madison Pacific Properties Inc. John is also a member of the board of directors of Canuck Place Children’s Hospice and previously served on several business association and not for profit boards over the years such as the Business Council of B.C., Covenant House Vancouver, the United Way as well as many others.

Dino Di Marco

Dino joined the Madison Group in 2013 as Chief Financial Officer of Madison Pacific Properties. In 2015, Mr. Di Marco assumed the role of Executive Vice President and CFO of Madison. In Dino’s role, he is part of the senior executive leadership responsible for decision-making over strategic, investment, financial and operating activities.

Prior to joining the Madison Group, Mr. Di Marco held roles as the CFO of a multi-family residential developer and as the CFO of a biotechnology firm developing cancer therapeutics. Mr. Di Marco also worked with the International Financial Services firm of PwC for several years. During his time with PwC Mr. Di Marco worked with both public and private companies and advised them on mergers and acquisitions, financings, operating and corporate governance matters. Mr. Di Marco worked with PwC primarily in Canada as well as Milan, Italy.

Mr. Di Marco holds a bachelor degree in business administration from Simon Fraser University and is a CPA and Chartered Accountant.

Peter Rees

Peter joined the Madison Group in 2019, as Vice President, Corporate Development. In his role, Peter is involved in operational management in addition to managing capital raises, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships across the portfolio of businesses.

Prior to joining the Madison Group, Peter spent 15 years in the mining industry, where he was Chief Financial Officer for a number of US and Canadian publicly listed mining companies and a principal shareholder of the UMS Mining Group. During his tenure, the UMS Mining Group raised over $500 million in equity to fund the development of several successful mining companies. As CFO, Peter led the group’s financial, legal, M&A, and public equity offering functions.

Peter is a CPA, CA (2006), an alumnus of Deloitte, and holds a bachelor’s of Mechanical engineering from McGill University.

Peter Grippo

Peter joined the Madison Group in 2021, as Director, Business Development. In his role, Peter is responsible for sourcing and executing business development opportunities, as well as various strategic initiatives across the Company.

Prior to joining Madison in 2021, Peter spent 10 years with PwC Vancouver. Most recently, Peter was a Director in PwC’s Corporate Finance practice, primarily assisting privately owned businesses through divestiture processes. In total, Peter has advised on over $1 billion in transaction volume.

Peter is a CPA, CA, having obtained his designation in 2013. He is a graduate of the University of British Columbia.

Katrina Wang

Katrina joined Glacier Media in 2018 as Tax Manager and in 2021 became Director of Tax for the Madison Group. In her role, Katrina is responsible for corporate and indirect tax and tax incentives. Prior to joining the Madison Group, Katrina spent time at two Big 4 Firms in international and Canadian tax practices and in the tax functions at a large Canadian multinational and a US Fortune 500 company. Katrina
is a CPA, CGA, holds an MBA and completed CPA Canada’s In-depth Tax Course.

Real Estate
Marvin Haasen

Mr. Haasen has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate industry in Vancouver, Toronto and Asia, and he holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and an Honours BA from the University of Western Ontario.

Prior to joining Madison Pacific properties, Mr. Haasen was a Principal at Intracorp Properties (Vancouver), Fund Manager at Lend Lease Real Estate (Asia) and held various leadership roles within other retail, office and industrial development companies (Toronto).

Real Estate
Bernice Yip

Ms. Bernice Yip has been the Chief Financial Officer of Madison Pacific Properties since 2021.

Bernice served as the Company’s Senior Director of Finance, prior to her appointment as Chief Financial Officer and has many years of financial management experience having served in various senior financial roles during her career.

Ms. Yip holds a bachelor of commerce degree from the University of British Columbia and has been a chartered professional accountant since 2006.

Jonathon Kennedy

As president and Chief Executive Office of Glacier Media, Jonathon Kennedy oversees all aspects of Glacier’s business information and community media assets.

Prior to joining Glacier Media in 2006, Mr. Kennedy worked extensively in investment banking and management consulting, focusing on restructuring and turnaround projects.

He is a graduate of Harvard University, where he earned both undergraduate and master of business administration (MBA) degrees.

Orest Smysnuik

As Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Smysnuik oversees Glacier’s financial and business operations, the information technology and human resources portfolios.

Before joining Glacier Media, Mr. Smysnuik was CFO at Lower Mainland Publishing, a division of Hollinger International, and worked with Arthur Anderson within their Audit and Advisory practice.

Mr. Smysnuik is a Chartered Accountant and a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan.

Data and Insights
Mark Melville

Mr. Melville is President of Glacier’s Business Information division overseeing a portfolio of business intelligence operations. Prior to this role, he led Glacier’s efforts in acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.

Mr. Melville has extensive senior executive and CEO experience with several technology firms some of which were successfully monetized in transactions with global leaders like Amazon.com and Compuware. Mr Melville started his career as a management consultant with the Monitor group, a prominent strategy consulting firm that merged with Deloitte’s Strategy Consulting practice.

Mr. Melville graduated with an honours degree in finance from UBC. He earned his MBA degree at Harvard Business School and an MPA in International Finance at Harvards Kennedy School of Government.

Industrial Automation & Service
Neil Amyotte

Mr. Anthony (Neil) Amyotte has been President and Chief Executive Officer of Madison Group’s Industrial
Automation and Service group for the past fourteen years. Mr. Amyotte is a business professional with more than four decades of experience in various industries, including telecommunications, transportation, and automation. Neil holds a Certificate Degree in Electronics Technology and Engineering and has also worked in various technical, marketing, and corporate functions at BCE, TRW, and Rockwell.

Directors & Advisory Board

Sam Grippo

Sam is a founding partner of the Madison Group and held the position of President and CEO from its inception in 1976 until 2020. A graduate of the University of British Columbia, Mr. Grippo worked with Arthur Andersen & Co. Chartered Accountants before founding Madison in 1976 with a portfolio of real estate investments and the acquisition of Armature Electric Co. Sam and his partners have built Madison into a diversified company with operations in industrial service and automation, real estate, business information, publishing, telecommunications, and a variety of other investments. Today, the Madison Group employs in excess of 2,500 people throughout Canada, the USA, England, South Africa, India, Pakistan and the Philippines.

Under Sam’s leadership, the Group’s focus has not changed in close to 50 years and continues to be centred around investing in quality businesses and talented people. This simple long-term strategy has helped produce a good and consistent return for all stakeholders.

Sam maintains an active advisory role in all aspects of Madison’s activities. He currently holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Madison Pacific Properties and Glacier Media.

Jonathan Rees

Mr. Rees joined Andersons in 1974 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant before transferring to their Vancouver Office in 1975. Jon left Andersons in 1977 to go into industry and has since accumulated over 40 years experience in senior positions within the real estate industry. Jon’s particular areas of expertise include finance raising through public equity offerings, syndications and bank financing, as well as managing corporate re-organizations and restructuring.

Mr. Rees is a principal at PCRE Group, a private Vancouver-based real estate development firm and a director of Madison Pacific Properties.

Peter J. Bonner

Mr. Bonner is president of PJ Bonner & Associates Ltd., a diversified holding company. He has forty plus years of experience in the foodservice and hospitality business with properties across Canada. A graduate of the UBC faculty of Commerce, he was founder and CEO of The Spectra Group of Great Restaurants Inc. He currently sits on the boards of Madison Pacific Properties Ltd, Madison Venture Corp.,and Ames Tile and Stone Ltd.

Bruce Aunger

Mr. Aunger has 45 years of experience in accounting, taxation and finance in Canada. He was a Partner and CFO of Madison Group from 1988 to 2017. Previously, Mr. Aunger worked with Arthur Andersen & Co. as a partner specializing in taxation financing and related matters and was in charge of the Vancouver mergers & acquisitions practice. He advised a wide variety of major Canadian and international clients. Mr. Aunger currently serves as a Director of Glacier Media and Copper Mountain Mining Corporation.

Mr. Aunger is a CPA, CA and graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Commerce.

Elizabeth Harrison, Q.C.

Elizabeth Harrison is a Partner at Farris LLP, having started with the firm in 1973. Ms. Harrison provides legal advice on various matters including corporate finance; securities; mergers and acquisitions; corporate governance issues; establishment of commercial, “not for profit” corporations; corporate reorganizations; and general corporate advice to clients including board of directors and advice on incentive and employee stock compensation plans.

Ms. Harrison has served on the Board of Directors of the International Finance Centre, St. Paul’s Hospital Foundation, The Vancouver Opera, and Crofton House School. She was recently Chair of the Board of Directors of BC Ferries and was involved in drafting of the legislation that established the BC Ferry Authority and BC Ferry Services Inc. She is currently on the Board of Directors of the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs.
